Billy Tudor
Billy first experienced yoga in 1976 as a means of fitness. In 1989 he had to ease off Yoga because of a health problem. In 1996 after a succesful recovery due to gentle Yoga and Accupuncture and a change in lifestyle he returned to a more disciplined practice at home. In 2000 he had begun to attend more varied types of Yoga classes having found a new zest for life. So enthused with this new energy he felt that he would love to bring this knowledge to others. "the journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step" In 2001 he joined the British wheel of Yoga (BWY) and then undertook a foundation course. The course was successfully completed in 2003 when he achieved his certificate of completion. After this he decided to fulfil another ambition, to ride to Morocco by motorcycle, and to return to a place he loved, the Sahara desert. After this adventure he returned to his work as a mechanic but was soon asked by his Sivananda Yoga teacher, Shanti, if he would like to teach while she went abroad looking for a location for her dream, a Yoga retreat. Billy accepted this challenge and insured himself to teach. In 2004 Shanti found her dream in Italy. Billy took her place as the Yoga teacher at Namaste (a South London Holistic Centre in Camberwell). By this time he had decided to be a full time teacher and was running evening classes and Yoga days at Namaste. It was around this time that the passion for Yoga encouraged him to look for a diploma course. Billy found a course that really appealed to him. Even though there was much travelling involved he gratefully immersed himself in the knowledge of his teacher. He was presented with his diploma at The Lam Rim Buddhist Retreat in South Wales. He now runs various classes throughout London and Kent including various Yoga workshops for those interested in the deeper aspects of Yoga.
