REIKI
Those that practise yoga regularly know that after carrying out certain postures you can feel a positive sensation of energy flowing through the body.
Previously I had put this feeling down to the energising effect of yoga, and then I noticed the energy started to show itself at other times, even when not practising yoga.
My chance meeting with a Reiki Master gave me a deeper insight. I had already realised that we are surrounded by energy, this invisible force can be channelled and used for the highest good of others. Not just people, but animals, plants, every living organism can be affected by the flow of energy.
The way to channel this energy is to be initiated into Reiki. This isn’t for everyone but it is a path that I felt the desire to follow. I was initiated into Reiki many years ago.
Over the past 7 years I have completed my Reiki Degree 1 & 2 and now I am now a qualified Reiki Master.
Since my initiation into Reiki I have met many people who are involved with yoga, including yoga teachers, who have also found the need to take the journey.
Reiki treatment, what happens?
Initially there is a consultation; if the client is diabetic or has a pacemaker fitted appropriate advice is given.
The time taken for your pre-treatment consultation is free, the cost of the Reiki session is £35 at Hayes or at my home (South East London) Or I can come to you but there are travelling costs.
The client remains fully clothed throughout the treatment comfortably resting on a therapy table. The environment is warm and cosy, there may be relaxing music playing.
The practitioner will place their hands just above the clients body and there may be a feeling of warmth or tingling in that area, healing energy is being transferred from the practitioners hands into the client.
After treatment most clients will comment on feeling very relaxed and refreshed, as with any therapy it is advisable to drink lots of water to help the body flush out the toxins that have been released.
The treatment lasts about 1 hour and the client is given time afterwards to prepare for leaving and resuming normal daily activities.
